Summary
Superboy and Robin started as enemies to rivals to friends and eventually to best friends. Now, they are basically joined at the hip as what Superman would always say. But once out of the costumes, as Jonathan Kent and Damian Wayne, they never hang out together. They even barely talk to each other despite being seniors in the same class at the same school.
In Damian's eyes, they avoided each other as an MO, to keep their secret identities hidden, but in Jonathan's, Robin and Damian are two completely different and separate individuals.

It was a lot warmer in California than it was in New York right now, but there was a nice breeze shaking the foliage around him, sending the waves of the San Francisco bay crashing against the rocks at the base of the Titan's island. It was relaxing.
Jon wondered where Damian was at that very moment. Could he feel the heat? Could he hear the river, or the bustle of the town?
Jon jumped at the sound of something making a sudden noise right in front of him. His eyes flew open, and he had to take a few seconds to blink the sun spots out of his vision before it could focus.
Sitting in front of him was a cat. Relatively small, pure black with short hair, and piercing green eyes.
“Oh.” Jon stared in surprise. He didn’t realize there were any animals on the island other than birds. And Garfeild, he guessed. And sometimes Goliath. “Hey there,” he greeted, holding out his hand, a smile pulling at his lips. “Aren’t you a cute kitty?”
