“Wonderful sermon today, Father,” Sister Mary said happily behind him while they were helping everyone exit out into the crisp morning, the frost just barely melting off the tufts of dying grass and threadbare trees.
“Bit touchy-feely,” one onerous fellow who came sharp and exact every Sunday, Mr. R.P Tyler, had to comment on his way out. Father Fell smiled beatifically all the same, if just for the satisfaction of not having his spirit dampened.
“Yes, well.” Father Fell decided to shake Mr. Tyler’s hand and squeezed it just that bit harder. The look on Mr. Tyler’s face betrayed his surprise at Father Fell’s strong, insistent grip. “Perhaps those that prickle the most are in dire need of the message. Did you need a hug?”
