Years in the treasure-hunting business gave Sully some serious trust issues and a great talent for detecting lies, so he never complained. After all, this helped him detect that someone was hiding something from him way before it became obvious to anyone else. So when Nate started to act suspicious something, Sully knew... he just had to figure out what exactly was hidden from him

Kyojuro looks at Akaza’s searching eyes and wonders if he truly grasps the idea of eternity. Then he wonders if that is why Akaza has asked him, and all of the Hashira before Kyojuro: Fight me for eternity. Not because of their strength, not even to truly fight. A plea, to make the promise of eternity less lonely.
