"Why would I be worried about you?" Kaveh scoffs, crossing his arms and looking away. His eyes wander on anything and everything except Alhaitham himself.
"You just said that I could have died if anything had gone wrong."
"If you died, I would be stuck having to pay the entirety of the rent and the bar tab by myself."
"I'm sure the Akademiya would end up providing some kind of compensation to you from my untimely demise," Alhaitham says pensively with a hand on his chin.
Kaveh groans, voice muffled by his hand sliding down his own face. "Would you quit talking about your own death so casually!? Unlike you, I have some basic empathy!"
"So you would be upset if I died?"
"...Don't put words in my mouth."

Summary
Alhaitham confirmed Kaveh's thoughts before he could speak them aloud. "I believe we've found our temple."
"Really?" Kaveh's heart soared. "Oh, this is incredible! To think it was locked in a Domain this entire time... that must be how it escaped Deshret's grief-stricken rampage! Alhaitham, we —" He froze when he looked over and saw the deep grimace settling on his companion's features. "... what? What is it?"
"You might not be able to read what it says, but I can." He closed his eyes, clearing his throat before he translated aloud:
"To receive the Goddess' blessing,
all desires must be embraced,
all secrets must become truths,
and all flesh must become one."Kaveh's excitement deflated like an overripe Harra Fruit. "Oh... don't tell me that means what I think it means...!"

OR: A temple dedicated to the Goddess of Flowers is very intent on having Kaveh and Alhaitham participate in a fertility ritual.

Summary
Theories are passed around in the form of whispers: Professor Alhaitham probably said something that angered Professor Kaveh. Professor Kaveh, unable to let the insult slide, decided to take revenge by interrupting his precious class time.
A prediction goes around that in less than ten seconds, Professor Alhaitham will proceed to offend Professor Kaveh even more with a tactless comment, which will lead to Professor Kaveh and Professor Alhaitham murdering each other. The whole class will walk out today without needing to write the test, having been traumatized by the tragic demise of the two professors.
It is not a very pleasant line of thought, but it is sadly the only logical outcome.
In which everyone is convinced Professor Alhaitham and Professor Kaveh are sworn enemies, unaware that their relationship isn’t at all what it seems.

Al-Haitham stands up too and uses the few inches he has over Kaveh to lean over him. "I suppose so. Thank you, Kaveh."
He doesn't know what compels him to do it—maybe it's the electric-hot pulse still thrumming through his veins from Kaveh's touch, his gentle fingers skating along the edges of his gloves, a heel tapping against his calf—but all Al-Haitham knows that it is Kaveh, on the edge of his peripheries, dancing just out of view, and he leans forward to place a single, delicate kiss along the bridge of his nose. Right along the freckles dotting his skin like stars.
The effects are immediate. A blush spreads like a wildfire along Kaveh's skin, which has always been a little too telling for Al-Haitham, and he splutters, blinking rapidly. "Why did you—"
He touches his nose in something akin to wonder, looking at Al-Haitham almost shyly, who grins and resolves immediately to learn how to be gentle if this is how he can make Kaveh come undone in return for peeling Al-Haitham apart like a ribbon with every glancing touch.
Five times Al-Haitham kisses Kaveh on the nose and one time Kaveh returns the favor.
