A firm hand on his shoulder stopped him almost as effectively as the voice that followed it. “Don’t move.”
Hunter froze. Despite the heat of the fire that roared before him, Hunter’s blood turned to ice, the coldness of dread spreading through him like frost as he looked up at the shadow looming over him.
“Crosshair?”
After their Imperial shuttle crashes on the way to Kamino from Daro, an injured Hunter is left to Crosshair's mercy as the two sole survivors.

But even Wrecker couldn’t hide the concern that laced his tone, making it just a fraction more unsteady than it usually was. Crosshair’s eyes narrowed as he looked between his two brothers. Even without speaking, he was all-too aware of the understanding they had reached.
Nothing good was going to happen to Hunter in there. Not inside the hidden laboratory of a Separatist scientist.
After Hunter gets captured saving his squad on a mission, he becomes a bargaining chip for his brothers to turn over the data they've just collected - or else he'll have to face his greatest weakness.

“No!” Omega growled as she pulled hard at the guards who held her. Their grips went tight enough to make her wince, but she didn’t stop fighting them. “Leave him alone!”
Hunter spit out blood at the guard’s boots and circled his jaw, shaking his head before he offered Omega a nod of reassurance. She whimpered at the sight of his bleeding lip, which was already split, and the bruising that had started to appear along his jawline. “It’s okay, kid. I can take it.”
“For now.” The masked man turned to face Omega, his hands crossed over his chest as if this was nothing more than a diplomatic exchange. It made her blood boil even more. “The better you are at answering our questions, the less he has to get hurt. Are we clear?”
The limits of both Hunter's and Omega's strength are tested when they're caught in the middle of a mission, forcing Omega to choose between keeping Hunter safe and exposing the rest of their squad.

Summary
Tantiss had left them all with scars - visible or not. Knowing only war, then learning to live a life while dealing with the aftermath of all the hurts and events that happened during the war is not easy, but they do adjust.
Hunter has always known how to push himself, how to go ahead, and protect those he loves the most... but his mistakes and shortcomings had consequences. He is now to face them all (or maybe realise he is way less responsible than he thinks so, and accepting help or showing to be hurt are not weaknesses, but strengths he hasn't known).
And Hunter isn't the only one who has to learn.

Now with Epilogue, which can be read alone as a separate story: Omega fights for the Rebellion, and one day before she heads into battle, she sends a message that feels like goodbye. The Batch shows up, and a long-lost brother finds a way home again.

Summary
Hunter chanced one more look at the busy Daro sky. The Havoc Marauder was fading from view, and with it, the four familiar heartbeats that slipped through his senses the same way he’d fallen to the planet’s forested surface.
Tech was obeying Hunter’s order to leave. He could still hear some of the chaos on the comms within his helmet, most notably Omega’s worried shouting and desperate pleading, but he’d already said his piece.
Plan 99 was what this was, even if none of them had the faith to say it, and it was the only viable option from Hunter’s perspective.
Hunter's capture is more than just a way for Crosshair to set a trap for the rest of their squad, and the sergeant proves just how far he's willing to go to keep his family, including their wayward brother, safe.

Panic slams into him, and he instinctively brings his cuffed hands up, shoving Crosshair backward and scrambling away from him. “What the hell, Crosshair?!”
“You belong here,” Crosshair hisses, and there is nothing in his eyes of the brother Hunter has always known and loved.
It feels like looking at a stranger with Crosshair’s face, and Hunter is lost, falling, scrambling for control, desperate to find a way to fix this, but there are no answers. No solutions.

Hunter always knew he would see Crosshair again after Ryloth, but he never expected their reunion to come after his capture by the Empire on Daro. Crosshair is just as resentful and angry as Hunter remembers him as being, and Hunter is not ready to face him. He is even less ready when Crosshair tries to prove that Hunter belongs to him. Some things can never be undone. Some things can never truly be fixed once they’re broken.

Summary

Until Crosshair joins the Empire.
In the aftermath of the Rise of the Empire, Hunter and his squad struggle to adapt to the new normal: raising Omega, and living without Crosshair. Hunter struggles more than anyone else. When Crosshair is finally returned to them, Hunter notices that something deeper continues to pull him toward Crosshair, and it's been there for much longer than he originally thought.
A hope for a better future, together, requires both Hunter and Crosshair to leave their mistakes and their past behind, but will they do it in time to save themselves from the Empire?

“Wrecker? What’s going on?” Hunter called over the comms.
Wrecker lifted up his helmet as he knelt beside Tech, eyes searching his younger brother’s frame for any form of consciousness before his gaze fell on the left side of his helmet, which was caved in and practically shattered from the droid’s hit. “It’s Tech, he’s down,” Wrecker said into his comm, trying to keep his voice from shaking as he wracked his brain for what he had learned—or at least attempted to learn—during their field first-aid class back on Kamino.
There was a pause before Hunter panted, “Down?”
While on a relatively routine mission for Clone Force 99, Tech receives what is believed to be a relatively mild head injury. However, while in transit to Kamino, Tech’s state significantly worsens, leaving him blind and the Batch without their littlest brother and teh glue that holds them together. Chaos ensues, new allies are made, and the Batch learns that brotherhood takes work and can sometimes, on very rare occasion, be found outside of their core group.

Summary
Sitting at a low table in the Marauder, Crosshair tried to ignore the sharp twinge of pain from behind his eyes. Each blinking light on the dashboard felt like it was stabbing straight into his pain receptors, a migraine threatening to erupt at any moment.
He rubbed at his eyes yet again, vision blurring slightly and he wished for a moment that his eyes weren’t quite as enhanced as they were. He relished his skills as a sniper, but that didn’t help much when his eyes were threatening to stage a mutiny.
Crosshair's vision comes with some unpleasant side-effects. Thankfully, his vode are there to help him out.
