There is… something he'd like to do before he leaves Camelot. Perhaps the Goddess will have the privilege to grin maniacally and point at him saying he proved her right, that he can't escape his destiny, and every choice he makes will lead him back to Arthur. But that's far from the truth. He's a free man now, and every step he takes is based on his feelings alone, unrestrained from the shackles of divine beings and centuries old premonitions. And he's always, always, wanted to put Arthur in his place. Now he can.
Merlin straightens his posture, rising to full height. Now he will.
He looks back and smirks, his chest nearly touching Arthur's.

Hopeless after Arthur's death, Merlin is sent back in time to when Arthur and him first met. Things don't turn out as innocently as before.
