Akira chokes, reeling back. “What?”
“So innocent. Sweet, really that you can’t see how much you want it. I’d never have bothered before but since we have this...time, I thought I’d try it out.”
“So this is some kind of experiment?” Akira says, baffled and a little hurt.
Goro scoffs though. “Hardly, I don’t need to test my theory. You should be thanking me, really. Opening this door for you.”
“A door to what?” Akira says, exasperated by just how self congratulatory Goro still sounds.
“Submission,” Goro says, his tone dropping, his eyes serious, even as the smile remains.

Summary
Today is the day Akechi Goro puts a bullet between his beloved – ahem, rival’s eyes. He can picture it clearly: Ren’s face going slack with horror as he levels the muzzle of his gun to his forehead. Lips parting obscenely for him, panting for mercy…Well, that’s not exactly what he was going for. It’s a shame he never got this out of his system before he had to end it.
Or: Ren sent Akechi calling cards before his betrayal to screw with him, and now the detective’s perfectly rehearsed checkmate fantasy has gone totally off-script.

“Could you possibly,” Akira grits out, trying just one more time to unlock the door to their apartment, “wait until we’re inside. For this.” His hand is uncoordinated and uncooperative and just doesn’t want to listen because, well… it’s actually Goro’s hand.
