Even though the housemaid had been the one to find the body, the call to the police had come through the Councilman’s personal assistant. The young man had called in a favor with someone high up, just to make sure officers showed up quickly at the apartment.

Why had no one reported his absence in Eadu?

Out of all the questions circling his mind, that one refused to let go.
Cassian knew there was no further investigation to be done. Still, he couldn’t shake the feeling that they were missing something. And if they were, then ignoring it would be worse. It wouldn’t hurt to take a closer look. -
