Connor was lucky to have Hank. Extremely lucky.
Without Hank, he would have never deviated. The hard boiled Lieutenant had shown him he was more than just a mindless machine. He had shown Connor that he was alive...
So yes, the android was lucky.
But... what would’ve it been like if things had gone differently? What if Connor had never actually met Hank?
You could say, “Well, Connor wouldn’t have known what he was missing out on because he never would have experienced the former.”
But what if he did. What if after the revolution, after becoming alive.... after being with Hank, the android awoke back at his first mission? Memories intact, but no longer free. Connor would know he had a great life with the Lieutenant after the revolution, but all that would be... gone now.
And this time...
Hank wasn’t his partner anymore.

Summary
Connor had gone deviant. Serial number #313 248 317- 51. It went into Jericho a machine, but betrayed Cyberlife. It was now heading to the tower to free hundreds of androids to shift the balance of power.
This was very unacceptable.
“Is it my mission to stop the RK800 “Connor” 51?”
“No, we aren’t stupid. You two are identical, but deviancy is unpredictable. We are sending the newly finished RK900 to stop it.”
“Oh...why was I awakened then?”
“You are the next Connor in line. 51 will die in this tower, so you will take its place. Consider it like you are it, if it had never deviated.”
It received it’s mission.
While the RK900 was to deal with the deviant Connor, it would continue where its predecessor left. It would go to the Hart Plaza and bring a sniper.
It was time to assassinate Markus.

(Aka an Au where instead of 60 going to stop Connor in the Cyberlife Tower, it’s Nines. And another Connor goes to what would be known as the “Machine Path”. But then things go....very very wrong.)

Summary
It had been four months since the end of the final battle with Eggman. Four months since they had beaten Infinite and Robotnik. Since then, the Resistance had worked endlessly to find survivors, help refugees and provide general assistance where they were needed. There were still badnik groups to deal with here and there.
During the war, many had gone missing or had been confirmed killed. Some had been lucky, and had found their family again, alive, and as well as they could be in these times. Some others were rescued or had found a way to get out.
Sonic was among the rescued. They had busted him out of the Death Egg before the end of the war and he had been a key member of the team defeating Eggman, once again.
However, some people were still missing. Shadow The Hedgehog was one of them. The hybrid had been captured by Infinite while on a mission and had not been seen since.
