The thing about Tony is….
The thing about Tony is he’s built himself up from dirt and gravel. He’s been shoved to the ground, scrapped rocks across his face, burned in the hot sand, suffocated in the void of space, and now frozen in the wilds of Siberia, betrayed. Tony’s been through hell. But that’s the thing about Starks, they never stop getting up. Tony falls and he falls hard and then, he picks himself back up again and again because he can’t do anything else. He rises from the ashes and he learns from the burns.
The Accords are no different.Steve sends him a half assed letter and tells him to buck up and come calling, come crawling back. Tony, with the patience of a man who had already stopped breaking who was broken but mending, calmly reads through the letter.
And, after he’s done, he burns it. Along with the phone.
Or...Where Tony gets the family he actually needs.

Summary
A series of fics set post Civil War. The Rogues, Exvengers, Team Crap - whatever you want to call them - return to the Initiative because of Tony's finangling for reasons that only he knows. But it's not the same, and everyone that Tony has befriended or saved all have the common need to make sure that they understand that. Featuring flashbacks to prominent moments regarding their relationships with the genius, Tony's people are going to do whatever it takes - words, threats, demonstrations, power plays, legal traps, even poetry - to let Rogers and the rest of the criminal bunch know that they aren't playing around any more. The rules have changed and next time, the consequences will be explicit and extensive.
To be fair, they were warned.

… or, my self-indulgent long-ass fic filled with my trademark bitterness and bias that asks the question: what would happen leading up to and during IW if Tony completely turns his back on the Rogue Avengers post-Civil War?
