Wanda doesn’t move.
The man bends to root through a cupboard instead.
“I don’t have anything in,” he reaches into the shelves, half of him disappearing inside, “Not much to offer you in the way of hospitality.”
“Yeah,” she studies him, rubbing her fingers together. “Ghosts don’t drink, do they.”
A bottle of cheap liquor. He tosses it a bit in his hand, turning it, inspecting it, grinning at the label.
“Think I’m a ghost, do you?”

Following a sudden appearance of a strange red power, Wanda begins killing men to take the edge off. Her first kill in London doesn't go as she'd hoped.

Wanda almost choked. Blinking away tears as she gulped hard, shaking her head, all she could do to not gape openly was ask, "What do you mean, you don't smell anything?"
Vision looked at her, his eyes ever so calm like the surface of a lake, still stirring his soup, not even caring about the steam going straight to his face.
"Well, exactly what I said. I can label the chemicals related to the smell, but I do not have the same reaction as a human would, I'm afraid," he said, looking up from his attempt at cooking with a sheepish smile. "As such, I can't taste the same way a human does either. So I basically have to rely on testers like you or trust completely in recipes."
Right. The Alpha that she had been drooling over for days couldn't even smell her, while she had to deal with his amazing scent everywhere. Great. Just her luck.

Nothing in Wanda Maximoff's life ever seems to go right. She's broke, single, hates her job, and, to top it all off, her family's falling apart. However, all that changes when she meets Vision, a man so perfect she almost thinks him too good to be true, but one who is also struggling to remain optimistic as he comes to terms with the repercussions of a life-changing event.
In the run-up to Christmas, this unlikely friendship blossoms into a whirlwind romance, and only time will tell if it's a gift to be treasured forever, or one to be returned once the holiday spirit has fizzled out for another year...

“Besides,” Vision added, coming to sit next to her, picking up his take-out again and playing the show where he’d paused it. “I owed you, remember?”
Right, she thought, closing her eyes and resting her head on his thigh, trying to hide how much his words bothered her. Of course, to Vision this was just about sex - he was returning the favor because of yesterday morning when she’d woken him up with a blow job to help him blow off steam before a big interview. That was, after all, how this whole friends with benefits thing started between them - a favor for a favor, a way to work out their stress and to satisfy their urges while they were both between relationships, made doubly convenient by the fact that they’d been living together since Wanda had graduated college. It was a perfectly good situation, made even better because the sex was so damn phenomenal, and it had been working just fine for them both for the past six months.
Too bad Wanda had to go and ruin it for herself by falling in love with him.
