Summary
Terry trudges the three flights of stairs up to his apartment, cursing his stupid landlord with every step.
The elevator is out of order again, and he knows the thing will be broken for at least the next month. Living on the third floor of this shitty complex fucking sucked, but the location was just too good to give up right now. Being between all his friends, his family, made his house a hotspot for impromptu too-drunk-to-drive-home sleepovers or I-desperately-need-advice-but-therapy-is-still-a-week-away visits.
But on days like these, where the students just couldn’t settle down all day and he barely got anything done and all he wanted to do was collapse and pass out, the poor care of the place made climbing these stairs a never ending nightmare and made his deposit seem barely worth it.

Terry comes home to a hyperactive kid and a demon making him spaghetti on his stove. He’d reflect on how domestic it all was if he wasn’t so fucking tired.

Summary
At the window was the brightest bird she’d ever seen. Honestly, it was unlike any bird she knows; thin neck, flowing wing and tail feathers, looking almost like a peacock’s tail, or a cape flowing behind it. Long, wire-thin feathers sprouting from the back of it’s spiky-shaped head, ending with tufts of blue. It had a bright, almost eye-searing mixture of orange and blue coloring, one she could feasibly say reminded her of a parrot, if they came in that color. And more than anything, it looked incredibly nervous and sort of terrified, expressions she’s never seen on an animal before.
Or; Phoenix dies. But then he lives!
