Did someone solve her equations after she left?
It’s only then that she notices the small, blocky writing between the numbers. Hidden between two problems, the answers to which Fatou had furiously crossed through, clearly frustrated, but not enough to actually hide most of what she’d written, she finds:
You actually got this right, you just didn’t calculate 67 + 81 right at the beginning and it affected the rest of the problem. The thought process was good, though!
A bit lower, Fatou reads:
It’s actually a bit easier to solve this like you would an equation of the B type, instead of A. It is possible like this, too, but it’s way more complicated and super easy to make mistakes with.
Fatou has no idea what kind of person would just correct a random person’s mess of a study session and even go as far as advising them, but the three pages worth of exercises Fatou had left have all been carefully annotated and gently corrected.

"I wish I was your wife.”
Emily freezes, and then she is quiet for a while and Sue wonders if she overstepped. She fights her instinct to immediately retract her statement, or try to predict what Emily might say. Goodness knows they've worked hard to get here, to this healthy place. She can almost hear their therapist gently reminding them that they cannot read each other's minds, no matter how deeply connected they are. So Sue waits diligently, patiently and, sure enough, Emily eventually turns to look at her. Her lip quirks the way it does when she has words ready on the tip of her tongue, and Sue holds her breath.

“Okay, I missed this,” Emily corrected. Even as she said it, she realised that she meant so many things at once: the quiet when it was just the two of them together; the closeness of Sue; the feeling of Sue’s hands around her waist. She had no idea you could miss a person this much when they were near to you all the time.Four times Emily and Sue snuck around; one time they didn't have to.

In front of her, Ji-wan looks strangely jittery, her bright eyes flickering every second, her mouth pressed tightly together.
“Just for the weekend, that’s it!” she blurts out, coming forward to wrap her fingers around Sol’s wrist.
“What do you mean girlfriend?” asks Sol, her voice tapering towards the end.
“Yoon Sol,” whines Ji-wan, widening her eyes with a protruding lower lip, incorrectly interpreting Sol’s hesitance. “It’s not even real! You just have to pretend, just for the weekend, that’s it!”
