Summary
They lay side-by-side on the floor of the Forgotten Temple for some amount of time, lost in regret and devastation and heartache, before Impa wiped her cheeks with a sniffle and pushed herself up from the ground. “We’ll need to start our work immediately if we’re to get her back, then,” she said. “Go wash your face, and I’ll put the kettle on.”
He blinked. “Impa, the glyphs say it’s not possible.”
“Oh, Link, old friend, I don’t care what the Zonai thought was possible. Perhaps they didn’t know of a way to reverse the draconification process, but that was so, so very long ago. Think of the legends we’ve recorded over the centuries since, all the many ways that Hyrule has been saved from ruin by unimaginable power — do you think the Zonai really knew everything that would ever come to be?
“It will be hard to find, certainly, but I believe wholeheartedly that there is something in this land that can bring her back. So unless you don’t think we owe it to our Princess to try, I suggest you get up off the floor, wipe the tears off your face, and get to work.”
A lore-adjacent explanation for how Zelda might have been restored at the end of Tears of the Kingdom.

“It might be good for you,” Impa murmurs gently. The stream bubbles softly against the rocks beneath the wooden deck. “His spirit lingers in the places he loved most. Link saw him in the Temple of Time. You might feel him there too.”
“I don’t know if it would help.”
“He loved you very much. You were everything to him.”
She shakes her head, distant earthen windchimes drowned out by echoes of the past: a broad fist slamming against a table, dreaded footsteps down the hallway, a bone-shaking bellow of anger that quickens her heartbeat even a hundred years later.
“If he loved me, he wouldn’t have hurt me.”A character study exploring Zelda's complex relationship with her father, and how a toxic parent can leave lasting scars.

He's been resurrected from the dead and there’s a dead-but-not princess scattered among the stars waiting for him to kill the devil so she can be resurrected too.
“I’ve got plans, you know?" He flashed a half-grin, because they definitely didn't know. "I’ve got business to finish before I settle in.”
A chronicle of Link's journey processing the trauma of the Calamity during the events of the game, feat. Mahler's Kindertotenlieder and Symphony no. 2 "Resurrection".

Summary
The sacrifices are chosen by lot. It has always been this way: Once a year, on the anniversary of Lomei’s founding, a ceremony is held. One name is called. One family slinks away into the shadows and sobs and clutches their child for the last time, but for the others, the revelry that night is all the more exultant for the knowledge that if for only a little longer, they were spared. The people of Lomei are never far from death, and on sacrifice days, when they draw closer than ever to its embrace, they are reminded to cherish the value of life.
The horned god feeds, and the kingdom endures—but after two thousand ceremonies, the unthinkable happens: The chosen name is that of the Princess of Lomei herself.

Summary
A ghost told Link a story once. In this story, everyone died on a burning field.
There were two survivors –– the lovelorn princess and her battered knight, cursed in cruel mercy to a century in purgatory and a memory so shattered and broken that it was impossible to put the shards back where they fit.
He learned atop the Temple of Time, the dilapidated ruins where his ancestors’ ancestors’ ancestors once stood, that Hyrule had sustained itself on nothing more than stories for ten thousand years. Evil collected underneath the marble floors of Hyrule Castle for centuries. Hyrule had almost unlimited time to find a way to stop it, and yet they waited for two characters out of a fable to save them. Why was anyone surprised when the myth couldn’t sustain itself? Salvation is not the job of two children, regardless of the lofty titles placed over their heads.
But this isn’t a story about a knight. It’s not a story about a princess. This is a story about the aftermath of stories.
This is, ostensibly, a story about a dog.
Link, Zelda, and a never-ending story.

After Purah and Robbie take Link, after the rain washes Link’s blood off of Zelda’s fingers, after the dying morass of Guardians stop flashing pink and blue beside her, after Zelda watches in hollow silence as a bladed rhino beetle slowly crawls from a muddy puddle, the voice speaks again.
What will you do now, Your Grace?
Zelda jumps.
Oh no. She forgot about the sword.
The Sword and the Vessel take a road trip through the end of the world.
