Summary
It was all going to be fine.
Yes, things seemed to have not gone entirely according to plan. Yes, he was technically kidnapped, or “rescued,” as his captors preferred to call it. Yes, he was utterly defenceless in the middle of a gang war. And yes, for whatever reason, the Boss had... stopped calling him. Temporarily.
But it was all going to be fine because the Boss never failed, or lost, or made mistakes. If he could just stay calm, maintain cover and not be brutally killed then sooner or later the call would come, and everything would make sense again.

Summary
“Well, that’s just rude,” Wicander says, crossing his arms.
“You sound surprised.” Julien huffs out a laugh. “Surely you know by now that I do not waste time on things that are unimportant to me.”
There’s a moment of silence before Wicander responds.
“I am important to you, then,” he states confidently, and no, that’s not what Julien had meant at all.
“That is not—”
“You have spent time with me this evening,” Wicander says, interrupting Julien shamelessly. “If you do not waste your time on unimportant things, it seems only reasonable to conclude that I am important to you, does it not?”
Julien stares at Wicander, feeling rather at a loss for words.
“Don’t worry,” Wicander continues. “I won’t tell anyone. I know we must keep our dalliances a secret.”
