Summary
Across the sidewalk is Amber, smirking back at him like it’s nothing. At least he has company.
“I never cared for you, Cutthroat Bitch.”
“I know,” Amber responds. Even though the words are harsh, she’s smiling. It’s as though she has the upper hand. “But I’m all you have.”
--
House starts hallucinating Amber and has some realisations about himself and Wilson as a result.

Summary
Carefully, Wilson places the cigar back in the box and closes the lid slowly, using both hands. The meticulousness makes House’s blood boil.
“It wasn’t supposed to be like that.” House rolls his eyes at Wilson’s righteousness, but Wilson ignores him. “It just … slipped out.” He walks over to where House is still standing in front of the couch and holds out the box.
House doesn’t take it. “It’s not like you to slip up. One time I can excuse, but three …”
Wilson places the box on his desk, carefully aligning it with its edge. Then he sits back down on the couch. “I liked the way you reacted the first time I did it.”
~
Wilson calls House a good boy and neither one of them takes it well.

Summary
"'You're not even angry— you feel betrayed.' Huh. House throws a derisive expression onto his face, but in his mind, he turns it over and over. Anger is easy. Anger is simple. It's base and understandable, easier to process than the underlying reality. Emotions are always pretending to be anger. Let's say anger is fair. It's not. We can say it is, but it's not. Does he feel betrayed? Everything happens for a reason."

Or, in which House and Wilson learn to live in each other's orbit; Cuddy and the Ducklings meddle; and House is just trying to make the world make sense.
(Reading the first three parts of this series is strongly recommended. Picks up where book 3 left off.)

Summary
Wilson had always been a man who lived in the shadow of others’ choices. His wives and girlfriends made the decisions, furniture, where to eat, what to do for fun, even how to spend their weekends. He never resisted. It was easier that way, wasn’t it? To just go along, to let someone else lead, to let someone else take charge. It wasn’t that he didn’t have opinions or preferences, he just didn’t trust them.
or, House sets off a midlife crisis in Wilson by forcing him to pick the furniture of their condo
