Summary
A whimpering moan is swallowed between the crevice of Clive’s neck, as Barnabas leans forward to press lips and teeth softly against the skin. The scent is one he commits to memory, tongue stroking venerational runes through flesh. He tilts up to kiss the soft surface of that massive scar; were it still an ugly Brand, it made no difference. His worshipful tongue would gladly stir the ink, swirl it until the harsh lines curved and dipped into beautiful poetry. Every word etched permanently onto Clive without second-thought… for the words were Barnabas’ own, cast straight from the heart.
And even with this satisfying pleasure by his side to ease him, it is hard to imagine the hunger of such whims truly satiated—not now, when the will to aspire and dream has returned to him. A bountiful gift in itself, to want…
After a second chance is granted, Barnabas makes the bitter realization more than a human body was halted by his vow sworn decades ago.

Summary
He hardly anticipated the changes wrought by a simple shipwreck—Clive had witnessed dozens of them before: ships draped along the ocean floor like forgotten toys, or sunken treasure, coated by a blanket of sand and time-worn with neglectful decay. But then again, before the stars deemed it fit for their fates to mingle, it was hard to imagine there were people who called these same vessels their home, who steered their sails and made the ocean a part of themselves in whatever small way they could, just like it was a part of Clive. When he’d peaked his head up from the riptide one stormy night, a splash of fire illuminating the sea in a wash of vibrant gold, the last thing on his mind was what treasures lay for the taking underneath, not when a face so like his own slipped just past the waves… but not beyond Clive’s reach.
Or, five years ago, Clive struck a deal to trade a mermaid’s tale for human legs. Married to the love of his life, he feels contentment that needn’t be described by spoken word. Until night falls…

But now, as his baby was about to emerge into the world, the farthest thing on his mind was getting space away from them.

Summary
Most of the visitors spread across the room, but two sets of heels and one of boots moved to stand before Wyvern. One set of heels lingered to the right, but the other set and the boots moved in front of Wyvern.
“Why is he on the floor?” Mother said from the right. Wyvern grit his teeth. He knew her voice better than any other. “Get him up.”
“But he’s – I mean, yes, your eminence.” The swords left his neck. Wyvern had only the chance to take a single breath before an armored hand closed around the back of his collar. The hand heaved him up to his knees.
Wyvern kept his head determinedly lowered as he choked, eyes on the floor. His mother had brought some sort of guest with her. Was she going to sell him off again?
If she was selling him, that meant he might have a better chance of escaping from his new masters than he did from Sanbreque itself.

Summary
Following the ruthless battle between Ifrit and Garuda, Clive awakens in an unfamiliar cell as horrific memories of Phoenix Gate rise to the surface. However, rather than the deadlands, he finds himself in the bowels of a Waloeder dungeon, accompanied by a strange man who insists Joshua is alive.
All Clive must do to find him is eat.
