Her eyes blurred fast.
No one had ever done this. Not like this. Not with decorations and cake and a whole room yelling ‘surprise’ and looking happy that she existed to live another year.
“Amo’s…first party,” she whispered through her fingers. “Ever.”
As December came to the Ground, Amo only assumed that her birthday would be just like any other day. Uneventful, ordinary, and somber.
However, what she didn’t realize is that she belonged to a family now. And with this family, they had a few tricks up their sleeves to change that for good.

Summary
A man climbed out of the jet after Brimstone, blond and tall, clutching a duffel bag in one hand as if his life depended on it. He turned to face the camera, and a single brown eye stared back at Cypher through the screen; the right side of the man’s face covered by a large white plaster.
Cypher shut down the video stream as quickly as his hands would let him.
The protocol recruits a new agent. It goes about as well as can be expected. -

Summary
He’s spoken to Cypher multiple times before about the nature of the agent’s work, how he wont specify his methods, how the ones he has shared have been… distasteful, to say the least. Cypher never seemed to take their discussions seriously, much to Sova’s displeasure. He would always laugh, purr out some answer along the lines of 'I do what it takes,' and sometimes throw in 'my friend' for added insult.
And now here he is, parked across Sova typing away, ensuring that the first thing the hunter sees upon waking is a reminder that the man he hates is the very man who saved his life. That those same hands Sova had fallen into are now, he can only assume, picking apart another person’s life.*****
After saving Sova’s life on a mission, Cypher begins to act like he and the hunter are friends. Sova, to nobody’s surprise, does not feel the same.

Summary
Sova will take what’s running under his skin and through his blood to his grave. No one needs to know what the desperation of others did to him. Of what the hands over his shoulders pulled him further into once the other had reduced to blood and ash.
Filin died a soldier of Spetsnaz. Sasha Novikov died soon after under blinding fluorescent light. All that’s left of his legacy is a shot that never misses and a trail of innocent bodies in his wake.
Valorant does not need to know what he is, but as time goes on, and the past claws ever closer to what he left behind, he might not have a choice.
