He fumbles with the door, climbs out and stands there, his feet hot and sweating inside his sneakers. It’s awful, Hopper is looking at him with something like pity, enough silent sadness to infuriate him, and Billy can’t figure out how to get past this moment - and then. He doesn’t need to, because everything changes.

“You broke my door,” you say as you make your way into the kitchen. There’s a small chunk of wood from your door on the floor that you step over, like he’d clawed it out and tossed it away. There’s a bottle of tequila in the fridge, and it’s sharply cold on your already-chilled hand when you take it out. He rubs a hand over his eyes, the heel of his hand scuffing over his nose. You pluck two short glasses out of the cabinet, knock a healthy pour into each.
“I wouldn’t have had to, but you changed the locks,” he says, with a tone of reason.

After hours of being in this damn jet (and who gave Steve fucking Rogers a license to fly this thing anyway, hello, he crashed a plane into the Arctic on purpose once), they land in the middle of a field. Yes, a field. Literally right next to a fucking cow. They file off one by one, each taking in their new surroundings. Bucky moos hello to the cow.
"Did you just moo?" Sam asks. Bucky shrugs, and Sam rolls his eyes. "You didn't say a fucking word the entire flight, and yet, you greet a cow. A goddamn cow."
"Maybe it’s one of the twenty languages he can speak," Steve mutters, never taking his eyes off of his phone.
Bucky sneers at both of them. "Where the hell are we?"
"Right outside of Cut Bank, Montana. About 30 miles from the Canadian border," Steve answers, wrinkling his nose. "I got the coordinates right, this is the place."
Coordinates his ass. "It's a farm, Steve."

Eddie yanks the VHS out of the box from Richie's mom. The stretched, yellowing piece of tape along the side reads “Prom 1994,” and when a cold, unadulterated shiver goes through Eddie’s body at the sight of the words, at the flood of memories that overflows him, he shoves it straight back under the loudly patterned t-shirt on top. Unfortunately, Bev sees him, and snatches the tape back.
“Oh my god,” she says, pressing the tape flat under her nail, “is this really our prom video?”
