Summary
Rumi Ryu, fresh out of an emotionally and physically abusive relationship, is finally ready to move out of her aunt’s house and into her own space. She settles on a small apartment building in a quiet part of Seoul, where she can see herself flourishing, hopefully.
Mira Kang and Zoey Cho have lived in the building for ages now and haven't had a neighbor in months. Probably because the rent price was outrageous, but they’re able to afford it together. When a mysterious, quiet and heavily guarded purple-haired stranger moves in next door, Zoey immediately begins “operation befriend the neighbor”. Mira is just along for the ride.Or: shy, quiet Rumi moves into the apartment next to Mira and Zoey. Love and chaos (good and bad) ensue.

Rumi pulled the shirt over her head, the fabric catching briefly on her hair. She turned her back to Mira as she tugged it down, hands shaking just enough to annoy her.
“This,” Rumi said, gesturing vaguely between them. The bed. The six months they’d never named. “Whatever we keep pretending this is.”

Rumi shouldn’t dislike Mira. Mira hasn't hurt Rumi since the first time they met, or done much of anything to deserve the burning pressure in Rumi’s chest every time Celine touches her shoulder. But Rumi has had her bones broken before, has had her skin covered in bruises and has bled all over the training grounds. All to be worth it, to be the enough. To mean something and to deserve the right to live. To be more than her patterns and her claws.
Mira doesn’t deserve Celine’s affection like Rumi does. Why does Celine grant her such grace? It should be Rumi. Rumi is stronger, faster, more skilled. Rumi is everything Mira wants to be, but better.
Rumi’s ears tune out the complaints and the meaningless struggle. If Rumi can’t get rid of her, she’ll settle for sinking her claws into those offending ribs, away from Celine’s prying eyes.
