Summary
It is extremely disconcerting to go from walking to laying down at the best of times. Maxwell just discovered that the sensation was infinitely worse when the transition between the two states was quite literally nonexistent. One moment Maxwell had been walking aboard the Zephyr Mark II and the next he was in bed in his room at the Gotch Manor. It was truly a testament to the amount of absolute bullshit that Maxwell had dealt with in the past month or so that his first reaction to being in his childhood bedroom for no reason was to just go with it.
The first clue that something was definitely wrong, was Maxwell finding his old pair of pants that got destroyed in Zern.

When he went to 'Madam Loathing's Home for Wayward Interests', Conrad really didn't notice he wasn't growing. Everyone there was a 'Wayward Interest'. The Big Guy never put enough time into any of them for them to grow up, and when no one around you is aging, you don't notice that you aren't either. Conrad's not sure how long he stayed at Madame Loathing's. He went there to hide away. If he was just a wayward interest of the Big Guy then he could let the Big Guy choose what to do. If Elias Hodge wanted his Conscience, then Conrad would be there waiting for him. He'd just be at Madame Loathing's. Waiting.
If Conrad didn't notice that he wasn't aging, he definitely didn't notice that he was fading away. He got quieter, thinner. Conrad was a ghost in the heart of Mentopolis. He would wander Mentopolis, not really seeing anything, and no one seeing him either.

Summary
Most things didn’t really shine by the time they got to Scrapsylvania. Ludmilla narrowed her eyes to try and see what was glinting but she couldn’t quite make it out. The fact that her head was still upside down did not help. Mila sighed and slowly rolled her way up. She let the heaviness from being upside down fade from her head before getting up and making her way towards whatever was reflecting the sun.
Never in a million years would Ludmilla have guessed that a book could be shiny. The cover was solid, not floppy like her leather journal, and the letters were raised and glinted in the sun. The letters that weren’t worn away, that is.
Mila carefully opened the book to find an anthology of fairytales. Most of the story titles listed were ones Ludmila had never heard before. The story that caught her eye was called “The Princess Who Wished to Fly”. She quickly flipped to that page and became enthralled with the story of the Princess Elster.

Summary
Comfrey and Co found Zood much earlier in canon. So OG crew is intact. Zern had a Queen (unclear/undecided if she'll be the same as canon or not), there was a revolution against the queen which the wind riders helped with it. Since the wind riders found zood earlier, Cadswitch died later than in canon (we're going with he was poisoned by Longspot as a way to gain control over the treaties with zern post-revolution).
Longspot, wanting to get access to Zern earlier than the treaty process would allow, manipulates things to "temporarily" marry Maxwell off to someone high ranking in Zern. Maxwell agrees to honor his grandfather's legacy and will be exceptionally repressed.
