Viktor watches him with pale yellow eyes, and says nothing at all.
He wonders if the Angel will die. What would that make Jayce, in the eyes of God?
Basilica Larvis, more commonly known as the Basilica of Masks is the church of a dead God. It is inhabited by Angels and monks who still follow the hollow teachings of their belief under the watchful eye of Non Believers.
But something strange has been happening to the Angels... and monks have started to go missing.

Summary
Jayce sits up, ready to greet his partner with some quip about how much the party sucked, but the words die in his throat when he realizes that Viktor is not alone. He is—very much not alone. The low light from the lamppost spills inside and across two bodies. Hushed voices and a low laugh, the under-oiled creak of the door hinge as someone taller and broader than Viktor presses him up against the closing door, leans down and kisses him on the mouth.
Oh, Jayce thinks dumbly.
Or: A plumbing issue-turned-home-renovation leaves Jayce crashing on Viktor's couch for the foreseeable future. In that time, Jayce learns some new things about his partner. And his partner's various hobbies.

Viktor has a doll version of Jayce that he makes clothes for and lavishes with praise and affection. Jayce isn't jealous.
But he might just need a Viktor doll for himself. For revenge purposes, nothing else.

Two women are speaking to the man of progress now— pretty, like all the others. They touch and laugh, painted lips permanently upturned, eyes dark in a way that tells Viktor he’s better off leaving alone tonight.
But just as he turns to take his leave, Jayce stops him.
“Viktor,” he says. “Why don’t you come with us?”
