Summary
Wallace Richter was born the son of Darius and Violet Richter. Being a half-German boy in America in the 40s didn't go over well for him. His classmates mock him, accused him of things he's not. His father, Darius, was born in Germany, yes, but he fought for America in the war. And in that war, Darius Richter met Clyde Hilson, an aspiring politician with a handsome face and a voice like honey. Clyde was the embodiment of an ideal American. He flipped burgers and hosted family gatherings. Wallace doesn't like him. He seems artificial. Clyde Hilson gets elected Wisconsin governor in 1947, and he has a whole population fawning over him. Clyde is a devout Catholic and he makes it very clear. Wallace is questioning his faith. If God is real, then why does he allow atrocities, like genocide, to happen?
The story spans throughout the 40s-60s. The 40s are mostly flashback sequences, and the story starts in 1951.
Only the first two chapters are published so far, and if people begin to read and enjoy this, I will begin posting more chapters.
Summary and tags will be updated as the story continues.
