the pod opens. two strong hands are grasping at their shoulders, and then hauls them out of the pod and onto the ground. they stumble, the lines of reality and fiction blurring at the edges, but those same strong hands catch them, makes sure they don't fall onto their ass.
"...you're alright, sweetheart. I've got you." the voice is distant, yet right next to them. and then finally, they register who it belongs to.

Summary
Rain and wind pound against the windows. It's dark outside, the streetlights having stopped working long ago. Lots of things didn't work anymore, and the government didn't give enough fucks about the folk in the poorer parts of the city to get anything fixed. The light fixture overhead makes a foreboding noise now and again that you blissfully ignore while you twirl a screwdriver between your fingers. You fumble to catch it when it slips and nearly cuts your hand.
Murphy side-eyes you, but you merely grin at him, making your way back over to him so you can continue fiddling with the fried circuits in his arm.
