Against his instincts to run and hide, he lifts his arm up and reaches for the other half of himself within the water. It does the same, eyes turning bright as their fingers brush, and for just a moment, Tibby feels something concrete. Evidently, the other-Tibby must feel it too, and pulls away quickly. It speaks as the sensation of touch floats away from Tibby.
“Are you my evil clone?” Its mouth moves, and Tibby barely hears it. Just like in the river, but words. It’s not sobbing.

The file was already scanned and placed within the folder alongside the sealed original, which was great for time. All that was left to do was hit record and start reading. That caused anxiety to swirl deep in Lew's gut, but their limbs were already moving to pick up the statement scan. The tape recorder was already running, (Did they turn that on?
