Zenyatta is a late surger, I keep my eyes peeled for her move. Her running looks imbalanced, but not out of habit; she's dragging her left leg behind her.
The third corner approaches, on a closeup of the runners I can see that Zenyatta has started to grimace. Not the usual grimace of someone who wants to win so badly, but different, more fierce- she's in pain.
She shouldn't be pushing herself like this, especially not in a tryout. I hope I'm wrong.
Heartbeats pass, I get confirmation I'm right.
Zenyatta's leg gives out.
