Summary
He wonders idly, sometimes, why chaos is needed to create order. It would be in his duties to the Lawbearer to remove those corrupt from their positions; he doubts he would be charged with a crime were he to simply run Ianis through with his sword. He wonders, at night in the darkness of his room, if they would even place him in a zone of truth, or would they merely expect his honesty.
Fedya wonders, as he sweeps the floors of the temple, if he would be afforded the same punishments as those lesser than him. Those they have chained up and left in cells, those who were taught to reintegrate into society.
He does not mention these thoughts to Uzziel. He likes the way Uzziel treats him, tender but firm, with high expectations for Fedya’s success and with equally firm words of encouragement when he fails. Not that he fails often.
