Summary
Shinazugawa Sanemi had nothing for years. His siblings, his mother, his piece-of-shit excuse of a father... all gone. Sure, he had Genya, but he had to ensure he stayed away from the Demon Slayer Corps to be safe. Once Masachika was torn out of the picture, Sanemi only had Kocho Kanae as the light in his life for too little before she was lost to the risks of their shared profession, and he was alone again.
Similarly, Tomioka Giyuu had lost his sister, Tsutako. He was called crazy and was an outcast in his village before he began to slay demons. His best friend, Sabito? He had been the only one to fail Final Selection. Giyuu had nobody once he became a Hashira, not that he deserved to be one, anyways. He wasn't like the rest of them.
Rough as each of their pasts were, they eventually found comfort in one another's presence. The hot-headed Wind Pillar found his life entangling with that of the soft-spoken Hashira of Water.
