Summary
Louis looks like he could own the world, like he’ll ask Harry to own him right then and there. Like he knows Harry will agree. He would. Louis’ smirk reads smug, he surely knows.
Seeing him like that fuels Harry even more, a smile playing on his lips as he makes the move and wraps both his arms around the other’s shoulders, effectively forcing Louis’ head into his neck.
An invitation.
There’s a line they’ve been careful not to cross the past 9 months. Through the small acts that slowly brought them back to how they were, the laughs and jokes. Through the late night drunk confessions and the near-kisses. Through it all, they didn’t dare come close to that line, let alone cross it.
Or, a story about two people with too little faith in themselves and too much love for each other to stay away. Loosely inspired by Sue me by Audrey Hobert, because fucking your ex is iconic, but sometimes it comes with a little too many consequences.

Harry let out a dry laugh. “It’s awkward, Louis. What can I say?”
“It doesn’t have to be. You and I are no longer engaged.”
“No,” Harry shook his head sadly. “You’re engaged to Jane. She’s pretty. How did you meet?”
Louis sighed softly, leaning back against his chair. “My parents introduced me. Father’s getting old. They wanted me to be married and step up for the family and our estate.”
“Oh,” Harry said. “And this was recent?”
This time, it was Louis that looked exasperated. “Does it matter? This was what you wanted, right?”
“I don’t —” Harry stopped short, wondering what he could say. He didn’t want this, but he did give it up. He had no right to argue right now. “I want you to be happy.”
or two years ago, Harry left Louis on their wedding day to follow his dreams of becoming an artist. When he returns, in hopes of reconciling, he finds he may be too late.

Summary
The process of courting is seriously outdated nowadays, it's not common anymore; people don’t want to go through the hassle of a proper courtship, dating is easier.
Louis though, he was raised in a very traditional family, every member, down to his parents, had a courting and a mating ceremony. He grew up hearing stories about how wonderful it is, how much deeper the connection gets between a courting pair can get, and he's wanted that for himself since he was a pup, always dreaming of his alpha showing up and sweeping him off of his feet.
His dreams seem to be coming true when he moves into a new building, closer to where he works, and the older alpha living in the flat in front of his own, initiates the courtship process. Everything he's ever wanted is within reach.

The man looked at Louis quizzically.
“Are you really going to start a job without finishing it?” Louis teased.
