So now, lying on Harry’s bottom bunk below Louis’ own, with Harry beside him and playing some daft game on his phone, Louis decides it’s time to put out his feelers. Time to see if there’s any way in hell that Harry could possibly, maybe be feeling the same kind of things Louis is. Because Louis sees - he catches little glimpses of what he’s pretty sure are like mirror images of his own face - little glances and smiles and stares, and he’s pretty sure (even though he only knows this because he watched back the video diaries extensively just to observe Harry’s reactions- and yes, he knows that’s creepy, thanks) that Harry could maybe get where Louis is coming from. Hopefully.

It’s still that dreamy kind of dark, nothing seeming real, but he knows that it’s time to go, to whistle for Pippa and eat whatever he’s got left in the fridge and start the drive down to Molly’s.
He can’t seem to open the door. Maybe he doesn’t want to face it, this new thing. Having Louis here feels like a betrayal. Harry tries not to think about what his Dad would have to say if he saw the journo sleeping on their pull-out, here to shake a settled sheet and watch the dust fly again.

He’s completely drenched, not one millimetre of him not covered in rain, and the old sheepskin cover over the seat is probably going to stink afterwards from the damp. But even with what seems to be a constant tremor shaking his body, brown hair plastered to his forehead, and a blue tinge to his skin, he’s still probably the most gorgeous person that Harry has ever seen.
Or, Harry picks up a hitchhiker in Oxford, and it's a long ride to Glasgow.

They used to have a Thing, now they don't, but they both still kind of want to, and then they do. Inspired by the night in London on the TMH tour when Louis and Harry didn't look at each other once. This fic could be subtitled: Louis Tomlinson's Failed Attempts at Indifference.
To be clear, I don't think any of this really happened.
