“His shirt’s on inside out,” Josh commented to Linda. Eddie opened the door to the breakroom and tried to let it close behind him, but that did not deter either of his colleagues. “Is this a walk of shame?”
“Well, I am walking,” Eddie confirmed, rounding the counter and beelining to the empty coffee pot. “And full of shame.”
“What happened?”
“I stood him up,” he answered, shortly.
After what was probably a very involved silent conversation between Linda and Josh, Josh said, “Eddie, if you aren’t ready, I’m sure he’d understand.”
“I am ready,” he said, detaching the water reservoir with more force than necessary. “I didn’t do it on purpose.”

Eddie Diaz has been trying to get Firefighter Buckley to agree to a date for the last two months; so no one is more surprised than he is when he finally gets a chance—and blows it.
Or: Dispatchers Eddie and Maddie are both looking for a second chance. They just don't realize they want one from the same person.

The sheets sticking to his damp skin, their sounds of pleasure echoing around the room, Buck telling him all the things he’s thought about doing to Eddie before. How Eddie would let him without question, knowing Buck would still take care of him even when given all the power in the world.
What this means for himself is something that’s hard to bear thinking about.

Summary
“Swingers,” Buck gasped, eyes wide and mouth agape, “Eddie, they’re swingers.”
Immediately, Eddie blanked, fork clattering against his dish as he ran through every possible way he could try to deny it. More or less recovered, he eventually shook his head and laughed, “What? No. No, they’re not.”
“Yes,” the other gritted out, frantically gesturing back at the two couples at the bar, “they are.”
Turning in his seat, Eddie watched as the pair of husbands quite literally swapped wives, getting rather cozy with their new partner for the evening. And... ok, damn. Sure. Clearing his throat as he turned back around, he was willing to make a partial concession, “Ok. Fine. Maybe those four are, but—”
That’s when Buck got to pointing: “And them. And them. And definitely them.” Each assessment more damning than the last.

Summary
Black spots dotted his vision. Dying here wouldn’t be so bad— Maddie and Daniel would be sad, would probably avenge his death but he knew that his father would sooner whip him for getting caught in the first place— he had nothing to live for.
Except.
Chris was gripping the back of his shirt like his life depended on it and Buck just couldn’t stomach the thought of the boy dying in his arms. So, he kept going, kept running until his legs felt like jelly and his arms felt like they were falling out of their sockets.
Perhaps Buck's fate was doomed the moment he decided to rescue Christopher Diaz from his cruel brother-in-law, had been decided the moment Eddie Diaz's gaze fell onto him-- caught in the man's webs. Grateful for the blond’s part in saving his son, Diaz offered the Buckley’s a deal they couldn’t afford to refuse— he would protect Evan Buckley from an untimely death in the hands of Doug Kendall.
The catch? None, of course.
Eddie wasn’t the type to limit himself when he wanted something, or in this case, one particular someone.
