Izuku’s brows scrunched together, not sure what Katsuki meant by that. Until, he saw it himself, blackwhip sliding up from under the table, curling around Katsuki’s good forearm. It was just bracing it, much like what he’d done back during the war, when Katsuki had come back to him, soaring through the open sky to Izuku without a moment’s hesitation. Because he knew Izuku was there. That Izuku would catch him, keep him safe.
And then there was the slight blush growing on Katsuki’s cheeks, the inability to look directly at him anymore. “Izuku,” soft, quiet, possibly flustered, “quit it.” He didn’t sound like he meant it, not really, and Izuku’s head was swimming.
Or in which Katsuki is still injured and healing after the war, and it brings many things out of Izuku that he doesn't want to name.

Then his face crumpled and fell to a look that Katsuki had never seen before. It was cold and distant and Katsuki couldn’t fucking read him.
It pissed him off. Deku used to be an open book. He used to be inviting and look at Katsuki like he hung the stars in the night sky, not whatever the fuck this is.
Not to say Katsuki didn’t deserve it but… He had expected something else. He wasn’t sure what he expected because the longer he thought about it, the more this reaction made the most sense. Deku wasn’t that same kid that had admired and chased after him before middle school happened, and just because Katsuki had–I don’t fucking know–expected to be forgiven and let their issues remain unspoken of, didn’t mean Deku would, let alone even be willing to.
In which Katsuki Bakugou tries his damndest to atone for his wrongdoings and Izuku Midoriya refuses to even look his way.
