Summary
A brown skinned young woman looks up to see a man gazing at her across the train.
He’s older than she remembers, with white stubble grown out into a beard, and a tattoo on his arm she doesn’t remember.
She looks exactly the same to him.
He’s standing. She’s sitting. The train rocks, daylight flashing through the windows, casting a warm glow over her skin. Neither of them move. She stays seated, because he makes no move towards her.
He stays standing, because the sun has cast a halo around her body. If he moves, he’ll block it. They exchange no words, no physical contact.
But they remember it all.
(Dedicated to @yannaryartside of Tumblr, for making the post that sent me down a rabbithole, into a hyperfixation, and then writing the first Abbmira fic ever! (and also a lot of Rollins stuff that I won't own up to))

George scrolled through the recommended feeds, eyes half-lidded and sticky with exhaustion. Then one headline caught him: FORMULA ONE SILVERSTONE REACTION.
Not exactly original, but the description below made him snort: “RIP GEORGE RUSSELL.”

Summary
Your father’s variety of betrayal once seemed to you rather romantic. To break from the constraints of an arranged Chandrilan marriage, to conceive a child for love alone - such a wonderful story that brought you into existence, wasn't it? Surely one worth at least some of the weight you’d had to drag around of its consequences. It was only in later years that you came to see the tarnished and tawdry reality of it all, the disappointment that your father really was.
It’s not, of course, that you fear you carry some taint of his betrayal with you as if such things can be inherited. Nobody believes that - certainly not on civilised Chandrila. Perhaps you are simply more attuned to your own weakness. Perhaps, through the result of your own heritage, you have been given a conveniently sharp reminder to dig into you like your nails into the meat of your palm: don’t romanticise this. Don’t be stupid. There are no grand love stories here - you’re a starstruck boy with a crush. You’re thankful she was kind to you, that’s all of it. You respect her. It will pass.
