Summary
The battle and the events that happened shortly after it took everything out of Kris and Susie.
Almost everything.
Despite the blood red SOUL having control over their body, it never could pull all the strings. Some decisions they were still able to make, and this was going to be final decision with the SOUL inside. It was a risky bet, but they only had one chance, and this was it. It would be easier now, thanks to Dess.
Kris hoped that Susie remembered the plan they told her last night.

At the end of it all, the connection between the Light and Dark Worlds is severed after the last Dark Fountain has been sealed.
With hope crossed on her heart and Kris by her side, Susie will do anything to reform this connection. -

Summary
Unwillingly, Kris looks up and begin to examine the rest of Susie, noticing features more easily now. The slight rise and fall of her chest underneath the white t-shirt, the way some of the moon’s light reflects off of her scales, how a few of those scales on her cheeks are darker in color, like freckles. There’s an amount of worry in her expression which hits their heart in a way Kris never expected it to.
But standing out from everything else, it’s that her eyes are so… gentle. Susie’s bangs are brushed aside, bright yellow scleras that seem to glow in the dark with pitch black pupils looking right back at them. Her gaze on them feels warm.
Oh. Oh no.
You fucking moron. You can't be falling for her.

Noelle and Kris have known each other forever; they grew up together, Kris pulling pranks that made Noelle shriek only to get chased around by Dess with a wiffle bat in retaliation, playing video games together until Kris inevitably decided to get up and go play the Holiday family's piano...
Then Dess went missing. Kris went quiet. Asriel left for college. Distance grew between friends.
Dess came back. Kris started to smile again. Noelle and Kris reconnected, and together, they survived high school.
College is going to be a new challenge all its own, but at least they're in it together, right?
...Then Noelle meets her new roommate, Susie, and things get a little more complicated.
(AKA I refuse to pick a ship so all three of these dorks are going to figure out the whole friendship thing and fall for each other or so help me)

They haven't spoken to their old friends in years. After everything that happened, after everything they now knew about them, they simply could not. Until one day, when they received a text from Susie. Despite themselves, they answered.

Summary
Before Susie can so much as make contact with it, Kris has snatched the brownie away and is holding it close to their chest. “It’s not just any brownie,” they say in response to Susie’s affronted snarl.
“The hell d’you mean?”
Kris presents the brownie on a dramatically upturned palm and gestures at it like a magician about to perform a trick.
“This…is the kind of brownie that gets you blasted.”
