“Lan Zhan,” Wei Wuxian said tearfully, a smile creeping over his face. He’d expected to walk the world alone for a while, unsure when they would reunite, his heart aching.
But here they were, face to face. There was a bittersweet feeling inside him slowly being replaced by longing and reassurance. The one person he never wanted to let go of had turned around and come back.

“What?” Jiang Cheng bites out and Jin Ling has the good grace to go white in the face.
“You looked like there was something you wanted to say to Senior Wei at the temple, but you didn’t and now you have the chance,” Jin Ling repeats and he’s standing up straight, despite the little tremble in his voice.
“You have something to say to me?” Wei Wuxian pipes up and Jiang Cheng wishes the ground would swallow him whole.
What he has to say won't change anything, after all.
