Max readied himself to play his bagpipes, and saw as Ruby caught the motion in her periphery, her eyes widening in alarm. She made a sharp, frantic gesture that conveyed Someone stop him!! as clearly as if she'd said the words aloud. Broghini took a step towards Max, reaching out as if to either clap a hand over his mouth or wrestle his instrument away from him. Max sidestepped the paltry attack with ease.
Gleefully, he brought the bagpipes to his mouth. Right as he took a deep breath in, he heard Broghini say, "Wizzy, do something!" and a frantic rustle of fabric, but it was already too late. What would Mr. Wizard be able to do?
Warm, familiar hands clamped on the sides of his face, and he was turned forcibly sideways. He had just enough time to see the pale green of Mr. Wizard's eyes, then before he could even react, he found himself being kissed.

His hands were shaking, he was running while trying to see his phone screen. He'd always managed on his charisma, on smooth words and charm. That very same method had almost lost him what he wanted worse than anything to gain. Things like purple orbs that made him think of faraway stars.
Four years. It had taken him four years find his courage, to hold a star in his hands.

Summary
A shadow passes over Scar and on reflex he gives a loud, swooping whistle. He’s not pulled that one out in a while, but instinct practically drags it out of him before he thinks about it this time. With himself high up on a wall under the warming sun, and Grian circling overhead, giving their old signal that it’s safe to come in for a landing feels natural.
Grian lands nearby with a familiar hop-skip and flare of air-catching wings. Vulnerable motions, if there are dangers nearby, a huge target. But any other options would involve Grian taking damage in his landing, coming in too fast, or at a bad angle. Things they don’t think about here on Hermitcraft.
When Scar whistles the second time, it’s pure simmering appreciation for the way Grian moves.

Summary
Scar has found decent support for himself while working for G.H.O.S.T. He gets a steady paycheck, the insurance works well enough, and he's made good friends with people he finds himself able to rely on. He wouldn't say it's a perfect life, but it's good.
It's not like he uses half of that stuff anyway, though it's the thought that counts.Sure would be a shame if some random guy with an ego the size of Saturn came in and threatened to ruin all of that.

Summary
No matter what Scar said, Grian actually did know what he was doing. Sure, he wasn't great at actually doing the things, but he did know what was going on.
Case in point, he knew very well that he had been doing a routine check up on the most dense area of the city and therefore the most crime ridden section, and he also knew very well that he was surrounded by heroes on a rooftop and was going to have to fight his way out. He also knew that he was still recovering from that stab wound to his side that Scar hadn't fully been able to heal, and he knew that there was now a new bullet wound in his shoulder from one of Chromia's sniper rifles.
So yeah. He knew what he was doing. He just wasn't the best at the doing part.

Summary
Scar opened his eyes to . . . nothing. That was strange; he was certain he'd felt the twitch of his eyelids as they opened, knew that he was standing up and moving through . . . Wait, was he even moving right now?
Vision came back to him like a lacy curtain being slowly drawn back. The blackness went fuzzy, turned grey at the centre, and then slowly peeled itself away. Scar was left staring at darkness again, but this time the darkness was that of a dimly lit area.
He could see the walls of an unfamiliar building, random pieces of furniture: an armchair here, a dresser there, a switched-off lamp on a table—he must be in a house or apartment or something. There was carpet under his feet that were walking him through the building—he couldn't feel himself walking. Why couldn't he feel himself walking?

Mumbo stands in the beginning of the end of his creations, and he’s not numb to it so much as he’s useless, made to stand in place as he watches what he loves become history that may never be discovered again, and-
The fog creeps around him again.
“Really?” he demands the sky, and something sharp is eager to fill the hurt void in his chest. “Come on mate, honestly - at least give me something interesting to dream about! This is just- just- pants! Honestly, could you at least give me a night of, oh, I dunno, something more cheerful than a bloody funeral? Quite frankly, it’s getting boring.”
The fog closes in a little until the wisps of black tease along his arms. He faintly thinks he might wake up.
"I’m sorry,” a voice says suddenly, and Mumbo’s heart seizes. It’s not his, nor the hermits, or any voice he recognizes. “Unfortunately, I’m afraid we’re both outta luck here, fella.”
Mumbo blinks, dazed, glancing back and forth. The motion feels like freefall. There’s… nothing. No one, except...
“Pardon me,” Mumbo says faintly, “are you… the fog?”
