Summary
“Welcome to Deidamia’s Dilemmas. For the next hour, I’ll be taking your calls, lending a sympathetic ear to all of your love dilemmas, and giving you my best advice so you can enjoy a magical evening with your sweetheart.”
“Let’s hear from our first caller, shall we? What can I do for you tonight, dear?”
“Hi, Deidamia,” came another voice through the static of the speakers, and Patroclus gripped hard onto the steering wheel, nearly swerving off the side of the road. He would know that voice anywhere.

Summary
Achilles looked at him silently. He had an expression on his face that Patroclus could not quite place. It was a mixture of torment and muted searching, like he trying to solve the puzzle of the plain features of Patroclus’ face.
“No,” Achilles said in a solid voice. “My Patroclus is still here. I can see him, inside of you. I was wrong when I said you were dead to me, I can sense that his soul still lingers in this body,” Achilles gaze turned dangerous, his pupils thin, and Patroclus felt a shiver of something running down his spine. “I know you are there, Patroclus. I am determined to bring you back.”

Summary
Behind him, footsteps. And a voice says, “You’re the shoemaker?”
There is a moment where Patroclus only has the impression of gold—golden curls resting against broad tanned shoulders and a gold circlet hidden in his hair—before separate features emerge to create the image of a prince, finely albeit simply dressed in a white shirt tucked into a pair of dark blue pants.
“The shoemaker’s apprentice,” Patroclus corrects him gently. He bows just a little. Green eyes watch as he does. “I’m here to take some measurements. For your new—” His eyes fall on the prince’s feet and the words die in his throat. He’s wearing a heavy wooden shoe on his left foot and a cloth slipper on the other. Patroclus tries to take it in stride but finds himself looking questioningly at the prince.
“You are curious about my shoe,” the prince says. His voice is perfectly steady, unreadable.
In the tiny kingdom of Phthia, a golden prince is cursed with invulnerability except for a vulnerable heel. An exile apprenticed to a shoemaker is commissioned by the palace to create a shoe the prince can fight in.
A fairy tale about a curse, a magical shoe, a war, a doomed hero, an exile, destiny, and love despite everything.
