How terribly arrogant. Mydei grins, wild and prideful, heart thumping with what might be either adrenaline or anger. “Three sessions.” He agrees.
They say whoever attempts to make a muse out of Khaslana goes mad. Mydei thinks that’s fine. He wants less of a muse than he likes a challenge. Somewhere along the way, he falls in love.

“Phainon… Phainon of Aedes Elysiae.”
The soldier nods, speaking gently once more.
“Phainon, hm? Mydei of Castrum Kremnos. I’ll stay with you until you die.”
Or, Phainon gets trapped in a time loop, returning to the morning before the day of battle each time he dies. He meets Mydei in every loop, repeating their first meeting again and again; Phainon himself falling harder each time. End the loop, save the world—until their tomorrow comes.

hii!!! hurt no comfort for you of our dearest phainon, literally i feel no shame for writing this whatsoever and it's probably in my best interest to make this a little longer
this is based off the theory that phainon is the flame-reaver, especially since the guy was aiming his greatsword straight for mydei's weak spot.. but you didn't hear that from me.
