Soobin’s not used to taking a backseat. He feels every bump, crack, and pothole they encounter on the rugged roads. Maybe he’s just overly sensitive. Even the seat-spring sticks to the base of his tailbone.
From back here, he has a good view of Yeonjun in the driver’s seat and Beomgyu in shotgun. It’s all in his head, but Soobin imagines there is a barrier between him and them, like one of those plexiglass shields seen in taxis that divides the front seaters and the back. The one that Soobin imagines has a door; it is slightly cracked open.
He peers through.
