The Great Hall was silent, not with peace, but with exhaustion. War posters from the Ministry littered the walls, while owls still brought letters announcing deaths, Slytherins sat apart, sleeves pulled down to hide marks they never asked for, curses burning into their skin when Voldemort willed it. Across from them, Gryffindors glared, not out of hate anymore, but out of shared weariness. Harry looked at his friends. Even Ron and Hermione, once so fierce, had dark circles under their eyes. Golden boy, the Ministry called him, but none of them had saved him from sleepless nights or blood on his hands. it was the same everywhere: the Ministry demanded obedience, Voldemort demanded fear, both sides demanded sacrifice. None cared that they were students, that they were children. when another owl dropped news of a fallen classmate, the hall didn't erupt in grief. it fell into a cold, dangerous quiet. Students exchanged glances across house tables, and for the first time, no walls stood between them. " We're done," someone whispered.

”You’ve sold half of Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes,” Ron reiterated, his voice still holding its skeptical edge. Surely George wouldn’t, at least not without discussing this with him first? Surely not? But George just kept nodding.
”Correct.”
It was quickly becoming apparent to Ron that his brother was, in fact, not kidding about this.
”To who?” He asked frantically.
”Now, this is where I need you to be levelheaded,” George started, lifting his hands warningly in the air, palms towards the younger man in an attempt to keep things calm, as Ron felt an angry scowl taking over his face. Oh sweet Merlin, this could not be good.

It is a tale that starts with one Ron Weasley, though he is but a single variable in a long equation. At times, a small unorthodoxy is enough to open eyes and crack age-old foundations. The question is whether the eyes will stay open to see the ugliness emerging through the rifts, or squeeze back shut lest the unveiled is too hard to face.
