“You are beauty itself,” Jaemin had told him between kisses. “Handsome as etched marble in the morning sun, smooth and rich as aged wine on my tongue.”
Now, Jisung stares at the parchment where those words are written in calligraphy as beautiful as Jaemin himself. His vision becomes blurry, and when he wipes at his eyes, the ink of the word ‘marble’ is stained, drooping like makeup after rain. Jisung folds the parchment, presses it in the creases of his mattress where no one but himself will ever look.

Jisung had one hand still covering his face, and he pointed the other at Jaemin’s window, which was cracked open. Jaemin’s plastic plant was on the floor below, where it usually sat on the windowsill. That was probably the sound that originally woke him up.
“I’m so sorry.” Jisung apologized once again. “I got in through the window.”

We’re not even friends right now! Jisung wants to interject, but his brain is too heavily focused on the first part of Chenle’s plan—the part where he has to pretend to be in a relationship for the next few weeks.
