Summary
“Everything must be done with purpose,” Vivienne says with a finality Achaius dare not argue against. He doesn’t hear her rise to her feet, barely able to discern the steps that bring her across the short width of the parlor to his side. She touches his arm, then squeezes him at the elbow in a sharp pinch. “What is truly insufferable is your lacking performance in feigning that you do not possess such a purpose.”
(in which achaius and vivienne have two very different feelings during one of those distracted, antsy days that only bring rain, rain, and more rain.)
