Summary
In the mid 1950s, Niall dreams of being a star like the famous pop icon Louis Tomlinson. When he finds himself in the right place at the right time, he does whatever he can to make it happen. Louis's record label contracts Niall to retrieve their prodigal son from the jaws of debauched luxury and force him to finish his latest album. Of course, Niall takes the job. Niall follows Louis to Italy where he lives in sin with the film ingenue Harry Styles in a lush villa by the beach. Niall can't help falling in love with their lavish lifestyle--and with them. Louis proves mercurial and demanding, and pushes Niall into a violent mistake that will haunt him for the rest of his life. As he spirals, Niall is pursued by Zayn Malik, Louis's best friend. He's been suspicious of Niall from the start, and as he and Harry close in on Niall's secret, Niall must defend himself in the only way he's able. Even the love of Bressie, a kind musician from Niall's hometown, can't save him in the midst of this collapsing house of cards. With international police involved and the body count rising, Niall must face the music alone.

Niall heads into One Direction's nebulous break with ideas of world travel and invites Bressie along. Bressie is reticent, as he's swamped with work and triathlon training, but eventually he capitulates, ending up in Thailand with Niall and some of his mates, but not his girlfriend Roz. Tensions and feelings rise between Niall and Bressie during their eventful and ultimately disturbing stay.
When Niall sets his sights on establishing a home base in Ireland, Bressie offers him a place to stay and helps him look for a house. As things between them intesify, Bressie tries for distance, but their paths cross everywhere and neither of them has the self-control to keep from acting on their desires. Bressie must navigate the situation with Roz and his tumultuous relationship with Niall, struggling to do the right thing.

"I'm sure it's nothing," Niall says, and puts his hand over Louis's, giving it a squeeze.
"Promise," Louis says, his stern face on, indexing finger jabbed into Niall's chest. "Don't be a fucking idiot."
"Ow, ow, I promise," Niall says, laughing again, curling away from Louis's pointing. "Now, can we get back to—" He pulls at Louis's shoulder, kissing him, keeping his hands light and hoping Louis will follow his lead.
Or: After Zayn's departure, Niall and Louis fall together in a series of hookups that result in something neither of them planned on.

It's like this sometimes, when the lads are all out and about with each other or their girlfriends, and Niall's, well, sat in the hotel making blanket dens by himself. It makes him wonder whether they're better friends with each other than they are with him.
Set during 1D's time in LA back in December, which tells you something about how long it took me to finish this...
