Summary
Amicus Al-Doux is a rather ambitious canine. A young, aspiring detective, moving to the vast, sprawling metropolis of Dukant and absorbing himself into the faceless masses of the city's working class. He has been sobered quite quickly, however, siphoned and drained by an internship in the city's primary enforcement agency, the Bureau of Auspices.
Dukant, though, is known to surprise, and he would soon find himself thrust into the romantic thralls of a colleague, the draconic, commanding Victor Scalebloom, a threatening, elusive little thing that has since invaded his thoughts with forbidden desire and necessity.
Still, too, Amicus must navigate the true implications of his career, wrestling with the occultist sects and fanatic cults that have lodged themselves in the deepest crevices of Dukant's cancerous labyrinth.Not all roads run parallel, however. Some things are just meant to intersect, where names run familiar and ties bind knots that cannot be unlearned. Perhaps Amicus will learn that soon enough.

Summary
