Summary
There is a certain joy that Grian takes in Scar: in being his partner in crime, in waking up in the same house as him and watching the sun rise up his face, his chin, highlighting the edges of his scars, across the bridge of his nose, finally into his eyes. There's a playfulness that settles in his chest when he pretends he wasn't looking – as if he could ever rightfully pretend such a thing – that yes, Grian thinks he would have liked this life once.
But not now, not when the end is so close, the taste of his own blood on his tongue.
