When he’s sleep-deprived and desperate enough to hit that call button —after hours of mandatory deliberation— it’s never a lengthy conversation. Peter is somehow always out of breath. Most likely running late to work or a promised dinner with May. He ends up getting a jumbled lecture about the effects of alcoholism and wonders how Peter would feel if he just— “I’m fucking dying, dude!”
Would he finally be deserving of attention then?

Or: Guy Who Had An Intense, Years Long Redemption Arc Off-Screen Before You Met Him is an interesting type of guy, I think. And maybe Aiden wasn't always someone deserving of the title of the one of best men Lambert has ever known.
