Memories popped into his head like bubbles coming off of soap. Laying on a freezing table of questionable cleanliness with an FX-6 hovering overhead while a sedative washed through his system. A friendly 2-1B stitching a cut in his arm while his mom tucked him into her side. A decidedly unfriendly IT-O steadily approaching the corner he was locked into, its instruments an unspoken certainty.
Did medical droids make him uncomfortable?

An illicit faction requires an easily manipulable but ultimately dispensable team of four. Karasuno Volleyball Club's first years fit the bill. Hinata Shouyou's athleticism and lack of self-preservation. Kageyama Tobio's precision and spatial awareness. Yamaguchi Tadashi's social finesse and unassuming influence. Tsukishima Kei's brilliance and observational skills. All four children already adjusted to a team dynamic. All four children vulnerable enough to be manipulated into compliance. All four children perfect on paper.
No one bothered to consider that Tsukishima Kei would try to manipulate them right back.

Mr Harrington let the drum roll go on, laughing until the teenagers started to yell again, “Okay! Okay! Boys and girls, girls and boys… we have been invited on an exclusive tour of the one, the only, STARK INDUSTRIES!”
Peter wasn’t sure if he was going to faint, throw up, or cease existing entirely.
He knew he was hoping for the latter.

Peter hasn't spoken to Tony in two months - not since their argument. It had been stupid really, and looking back Peter wasn't sure if he could even pinpoint what started it, but he hadn't been back to the Tower since. He had been too ashamed of his behaviour to face Tony, and had no intentions to return. But then, his class field trip is announced - to Stark Industries.
Peter is determined to keep his head down, swallow his hurt at the genius' rejection, and get through this trip as smoothly and painlessly as possible.
Tony isn't interested in seeing him anyway.

Realisation cracked through his head, neurons firing like a strike of lightning. The air seemed to still in the aftermath. His classmates held their breathes as Peter’s eyes slid down to his backpack, kicked beneath the desk, catching up to what Tony had clearly already figured out.
“Oh no.”
“Oh yeah.” Tony grinned, unrepentant glee radiating from his pores.

When six, horrifying little crimson words flash on his StarkWatch during second period chem lab accusing him of theft, Peter's heart gives a violent twist, desperately trying to think of what Tony could mean.
Thankfully, he doesn't have to wonder for long.
