Summary
After learning that some humans enjoy weather patterns that are outside recommended limits, Data began to wonder. He was unaffected by the elements, as an android, but what of his cat? By keeping Spot in ship’s standard atmospheric conditions, was he depriving her of her preferred environment?
There was only one way to find out.

Summary
Data had stayed close to her on the short journey, but she didn’t feel threatened. Not like she did with some men. Most men. No, she didn’t feel threatened, but she did feel a sudden rush of embarrassment and awkwardness when the two of them stepped over the threshold of her quarters and she was hit by the memory of what the two of them had done together during Data’s first foray into her private space.

Tasha is violently reminded of her years on Turkana IV, Data is a good friend, and they realize that their pasts may be more similar than they initially thought.

Summary
How did one of the great friendships of the Enterprise begin? How does a child born blind learn to see himself as a leader among the sighted? How did an android unable to use contractions come to understand nonverbal communication? Maybe, in some version of the universe, it was like this.

Summary
Captain Louvois doesn't make Riker advocate against Data, and the trial subsequently goes Maddox's way. Rather than accept this barbarity, Data and many of his fellow officers take matters into their own hands. (Many of the moral stakes here are the same as in the original episode — dehumanization, slavery, unethical medical experimentation on sentient beings under color of law — but the fic treats them mostly with an almost satirical lightness of distance.)

Summary
“You must have voted in a lot of elections,” Ben said.
“More than I can count,” Guinan replied. “But I still love it, you know? I still think there’s something beautiful about a trillion people coming together to decide which course the ship of state should sail.”
~
Elections are taking place to decide the next Federation President. But the Enterprise's covert mission might keep her crew from getting the chance to vote.
