Shin glares at her, he hates this. He’s gonna request a partner transfer, he’s really gonna do it this time. This idiot can work with someone else. He sighs, taking a few bleeding seconds to calm himself down, breathing in… and out. He looks over to Lu, crossing his arms and looking at the chip in her hand.
“Whatever, come on, we need to take it back–”
He doesn’t manage to finish his sentence as before either of them can do anything Shin gets pulled back, his head hit and slammed into a wall. Lu’s eyes widen for a brief moment stepping forward to help him but she gets promptly thrown to the ground and the chip flies out of her hand and stops midair. Heisuke shoots at what Shin assumes is something but he can’t tell, he can’t read any thoughts, he can’t sense any sort of violence or emotion and–
Oh, it’s that bastard.

Summary
⚠️ PART 2 OF A SERIES, SPOILERS FOR PART 1 BELOW ⚠️
After seventy years of tyranny, Emperor Garmadon has been defeated by the ninja during the rebellion's coup. In the aftermath, Ninjago falls apart into factions, headed by the Rebel Council and the Imperial Governors, each group desperate to gain control of the city in the power vacuum left behind.
Kai, after being captured by the rebellion and cut off from his powers, is tasked with bringing the people together before it's too late. Nya seems to be on his side, but with his old imperial allies imprisoned or missing, and the other ninja having complicated feelings about him, it's begun to feel like she's the only one. And if the threat of the annihilation of humanity wasn't enough motivation for him, he also has Lloyd's safety to worry about, whom the rebels only promise to continue to keep safe if Kai follows their commands.
Meanwhile, Lloyd is being carted across Ninjago by his malicious fiancée and her crew of bastards—with the ominous promise that his father is looking forward to seeing him.

“Hey, so do you even know where you’re going?” Shin asks, he’s kicking a rock down the abandoned street to Natsuki’s dismay (“you’re going to attract zombies” “you worry too much”).
“I have an idea at least, unlike you,” Natsuki places his hands in his pockets. It was the middle of the day but there was still a chill in the air. He needed to find Mafuyu, he’s been needing to find him for at least 6 months now. He found Shin during the fifth. They’ve been traveling with each other for 2 months now. That’s kinda weird.
“I have an idea,” Shin bites back. “But I checked that idea and–”
“There was nothing there, you don’t need to tell me twice,” Natsuki shrugs.
