    To his credit, Tiger Claw tries to not seem surprised by Saki’s voice. It doesn’t work, his ears stand on end, the tufted tips flopping over with the movement. His eye also pops open, staring, hand hovering over the stove. He looks like a deer caught in headlights.

    He was cute.

    “Yeah- but I would like to.” Tiger Claw starts, setting down the fork he had been using to fold the eggs over in the pan while shrugging one of his shoulders, trying to seem casual. “You allowed me to rest here last night, it’s the least I could do.”

    OR
    Saki can’t stop thinking about that stupid tiger when he’s trying to sleep - and neither can I, based on how long this fic turned out.
